ON THE MOVE . Action and Adventure Holidays Ltd were very surprised and shocked at the news that Bramcote Lorne School was to close, especially as last year we had agreed an extended programme to possibly include boarders with increased charges which we were unable to pass on. We have established, although slowly, a local viable and sound business that was almost at maximum this last year.

Thank you to the many concerned parents who contacted us. We had reviewed our options, but were able to start a speedy dialogue with a very amiable Ranby Bursar, Mr Steve Willis; which ironically is the place we approached initially back in September 2005 when there was no Head Teacher at Bramcote. Although the then Dep. Head Mr Robert Parkinson was helpful and gave support and advice, latterly thanks to him we were able to plan forward prior to the new Head in 2006. |
Ranby House School moved quickly and have formalised arrangements and costs, we have an agreement to conduct the camp at Ranby for the three weeks in 2009 with solid understanding to follow for subsequent years. The school has some opportunities over Bramcote BUT. we do need to find a water activity location and will need to transport children safely daily to a very local venue to the school.
Action and Adventure Holidays Ltd is a local Retford family business based on the original ‘PGL’ concept. Established in 2006 our reputation already demonstrates a winning formula and appreciation from our existing member families. Children who come to Action and Adventure Holidays, as well as those children who return week after week are able to learn and develop by experiencing a varied selection of challenging and enjoyable activities. One of the most gratifying aspects of working with children in this setting is being able to see how many of them develop over the week(s). Children who experience Action and Adventure Holidays not only have fun, but develop personal confidence and experience; resilience, independence and team work. However, most importantly, we at Action and Adventure offer and ensure that the experiences we provide are safe, friendly, exciting, educational and fun.
Our Purpose Statement is simply stated:
“To deliver Action & Adventure Holiday experiences, tailored for children of 4 to 16 years of age; utilising Professionally Qualified Teachers and Licensed Action Providers (AALA approved) with the objective of creating a learning and developmental environment through fun, stimulation and activity”

I and many of my team have participated and worked in Activity holiday camps and outdoor education for many years and now with three years successful growth years at Bramcote, we look forward to developing the partnership with Ranby House. We will continue to employ like minded friends, colleagues and staff who are partly or qualified teachers in Sport, Drama, Art, IT, Design and Technology, Music and many other specialisms which allow us to provide the best possible provision, care and supervision available to your children while they are in our care.. |

We also contract suppliers who are either licensed with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) or The British Canoe Union or other relevant accredited associations. Everyone of our staff are all CRB registered with no exceptions, many first aid qualified and all have experience with and enjoy working with children. All of which make this local and much needed unique Children's holiday concept possible. |
Every child matters at Action and Adventure Holidays and we ensure that all children gain some kind of recognition for their achievements while spending their holidays with us. At the end of each week, following our Friday disco and BBQ, the children participate in an award presentation in which all children receive a certificate from their group leader, as well as specific certificates for children that demonstrate an outstanding capability within the particular fields of activity that AAHLtd have to offer.
This could be the first time you have allowed your child on a multi-activity holiday. With this in mind we see it as our objective to ensure it is a memorable experience, offering you as a parent, the peace of mind of knowing that they are growing as individuals and enjoying themselves in a safe and secure environment. I fully believe that what we offer at AAHLtd will enable your child to benefit from a program of activities that will allow you child developments that simply cannot be achieved in a classroom environment.
